Hi!
I’m Marcin Katarzynski and I’m a professional fine art portrait photographer based in West Yorkshire. I live in Halifax but operate in the whole surrounding area including Bradford, Huddersfield, Leeds
I also often work as a destination photographer and travel to photograph my client’s in their chosen locations across the whole UK and Europe
In simple words, what I do is I create a vision of you. With a hint of modern technology, my 10 year experience in the field, extensive training and exquisite sensibility I sculpture a vision of you in fine art photographs.
My style is distinctive, clearly divulging my adoration for depth, light and human beauty, and that’s the consistent part of the process. You on the other hand, bring your won composition of unique ingredients to the shoot, and that’s what makes each of my photographs truly exceptional.
That’s an essence of my interpretation of art. Creating a snapshot of a moment in an endlessly captivating form. I’m not sure if I’d go to an extent and call myself an artist though, I like to think of myself as a creator. And perhaps that’s one of the reasons my work continues to receive recognition and earns it’s place in gallery displays. I’m continuously open to exploring & rediscovering art.
If I was to describe myself in a few words I’d say I’m an individualist, walking my own paths and following my own sense of good taste beyond stiff frames of set standards. I’m an introvert fascinated with people, their stories, passions and experiences. This is the core of my inspiration and the reason why I always approach my models individually, ensuring the results of my work are something we can both admire. My visions and creations are born from everything I have a deep artistic appreciation for. It’s great film especially old black & white Hollywood movies, delightful work of light and good crime and detective fiction books I read passionately. I then mix it with the old art of Rembrandt’s chiaroscuro and Van Gogh’s impressionistic colors and create a contemporary artistic portrait.
The medium of photography can record not only what the eyes see, but that which the mind’s eye sees as well. The camera is not only an extension of the eye, but of the brain. It can see sharper, farther, nearer, slower, faster than the eye. It can see by invisible light. It can see in the past, present, and future. Instead of using the camera only to reproduce objects, I wanted to use it to make what is invisible to the eye, visible.
